New Wave Theater Collective is proud to present Alec Silberblatt's monologue play "The Mon Valley Medium" which will be featured in the Emerging Artists' Theater New Works Festival on February 28th at 7pm.
When the help of a medium is sought out to solve a murder, and the victim speaks from the dead, a community descends into chaos. A local Pittsburgh man struggles with guilt and must choose between revenge and redemption.
"The Mon Valley Medium" is a darkly comedic murder mystery set in a neighborhood nestled in the hills of the Mon Valley. Silberblatt's writing draws inspiration from the culture of Western Pennsylvania, specifically in the areas around Pittsburgh. Last spring New Wave Theater Collective presented "The Angel of Allegheny County," centered around a nurse facing a unique moral dilemma, to great critical acclaim. "The Mon Valley Medium," directed by Moira O'Sullivan, zooms in on a new character in the Pittsburgh area.
This latest installment features the same sharp wit and dark humor that has been featured in Silberblatt's previous theatrical works. "The Mon Valley Medium" will present at the Emerging Artists' Theater New Works Festival for ONE NIGHT ONLY. Directed by Moira O'Sullivan Thursday, February 28th at 7pm TADA!
