Pulitzer Prize-winning playwrights Edward Albee and Paula Vogel, as well as Tony Award-winning actor Bill Irwin, will take part in the panel discussion "Samuel Beckett's Legacy in the U.S." on October 12th.
The event, which will take place at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at 6 PM, will feature Albee (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, A Delicate Balance), Vogel (How I Learned to Drive, The Baltimore Waltz) and Irwin (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Goat, Largely New York) discussing the influential work of tthe Irish-born Beckett, who died on December 22nd, 1989 at the age of 83. The absurdist playwright's many plays include Endgame, Happy Days, Krapp's Last Tape, and Waiting for Godot, which is usually considered his masterpiece.
The Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is located at New York University at 566 LaGuardia Place (Washington Square South). Tickets are $10, and can be ordered at www.skirballcenter.nyu.edu. N.Y.U. students, faculty and staff may view the panel discussion for free.
