'Adventures NYC' Offers Free Central Park Celebration, 6/19

On Saturday, June 19, 2010, from 12:00PM to 4:00PM, at the Central Park Bandshell area (enter at 72nd Street), Manhattan, all are invited to join 'Parks and Backpacker Magazine' for 'Adventures NYC,' and discover adventure right here in your own backyard. Get ready to hike, bike, climb and paddle in Central Park to celebrate NYC Parks and the great outdoors. All activities are free.

You can navigate your way up one of four rock climbing walls or get in a kayak at the Dagger^TM & Wilderness Systems^TM Paddle Sports Center, or cast a line at the Take Me Fishing^TM Zone. Also available are free fitness clinics, including yoga, an obstacle course, and free bike rentals. Ride your own bike to the event and you can valet it for free. Visit the outdoor career fair that features green-collared jobs. Live performances will include trampoline acrobatics by The Skyriders and special musical performances by Apollo Run.

This event is free and open to the public. It is presented by The North Face and sponsored by Healthy at NBCU (media sponsor), Outdoor Nation, the Conservation Fund, NYC Department of Transportation, Take Me Fishing, Keen Footwear, Dunkin' Donuts, 101.9 RXP, 98.7 KISS FM, Johnson & Johnson, Wilderness Systems, Cigna, and Dagger.
