Adam Langdon Tapped for THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME National Tour

The National Theatre production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, the Tony Award-winning new play by Simon Stephens, adapted from Mark Haddon's best-selling novel, has just revealed casting for its North American tour.

With direction by Tony Award-winner Marianne Elliott (War Horse and Curious Incident), the critically acclaimed production will launch at Rochester's Auditorium Theater September 27, 2016 and will go on to play more than 30 cities in its first season.

The cast will star Juilliard graduate Adam Langdon as Christopher.

The production will also star Gene Gillette (War Horse) as Ed, FeliciTy Jones Latta (Metamorphoses) as Judy, Maria Elena Ramirez (Fish in the Dark) as Siobhan and Amelia White (The Heiress) as Mrs. Alexander.

The ensemble includes Brian Robert Burns (War Horse), Francesca Choy-Kee (Disgraced), Josephine Hall (Les Liaisons Dangereuses), John Hemphill (School of Rock), Robyn Kerr (Dark Vanilla Jungle), Kathy McCafferty (Dada Woof Papa Hot), J. THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME on Broadway is the recipient of five Tony Awards including Best Play, six Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Play, five Outer Critics Circle Awards including Outstanding New Broadway Play and the Drama League Award for Outstanding Production of a Broadway or Off-Broadway Play. Fifteen-year old Christopher has an extraordinary brain; he is exceptionally intelligent but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor's dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit, which leads to an earth-shattering discovery and a journey that will change his life forever.

The production is designed by Tony Award-winner Bunny Christie and Tony Award-winning video designer Finn Ross, with lighting by Tony Award-winnerPaule Constable, choreography by Scott Graham and Olivier Award-winner Steven Hoggett for Frantic Assembly, music by Adrian Sutton, sound byIan Dickinson for Autograph and hair and wig design by David BrIan Brown. Casting is by Daniel Swee and Cindy Tolan.

CURIOUS INCIDENT transferred to London's West End, following a sold-out run at the National's Cottesloe Theatre in 2012. The production received seven 2013 Olivier Awards, including Best New Play and continues to play to sold-out houses at the Gielgud Theatre in London. A UK Tour launched in 2014 and a second UK tour will embark in February of 2017.

CURIOUS INCIDENT, now the longest running play on Broadway in more than 10 years, opened on October 5, 2014 at the Barrymore Theatre, winning five Tony Awards including Best Play, six Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Play, five Outer Critics Circle Awards including Outstanding Production of a Broadway Play and the Drama League Award for Outstanding Production of a Broadway or off-Broadway Play.

Mark Haddon (Book). Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time was published in 2003. It was the winner of more than 17 literary awards, including prizes in Japan, Holland and Italy, and was translated into 44 languages. A spot of Bother, published in 2006, was also an international bestseller. His first work for the theatre, Polar Bears, was produced by the Donmar Warehouse in 2010. He has written 15 books for children, published a first collection of poetry in 2005 and is an illustrator and award-winning screenwriter. Mark Haddon's latest novel, The Red House, was published in 2012.

Simon Stephens' (Playwright) plays have been produced in many languages throughout the world. His plays Harper Regan and Bluebird were staged in New York at the Atlantic Theatre Company. His play Punk Rock was staged by MCC. His version of A Doll's House for the young Vic transferred to New York in 2014. His adaptation of Mark Haddon's novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime ran for two years on Broadway and won the Tony Award for Best New Play in 2015.
