Misunderstood: An Unrequited Love Story's Adam Fried is scheduled to perform a number from his hit one man show at The After Party on August 20.

The After Party, hosted by Brandon Cutrell, is held at the Laurie Beechman Theatre inside the West Bank Cafe every Friday night. The After Party's facebook page bills the event as "...a free, open-mic, musical theatre party featuring Broadway's best every Friday night at the Laurie Beechman Theatre." The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located inside the West Bank Café at 407 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th avenues. Show starts at 11:00PM and admission is free.

Misunderstood: An Unrequited Love Story is a universal musical with a score by some of today's most obscure and fresh composers. This new musical centers around the trials and tribulations of surviving in New York City and explores the ways we miscommunicate in relationships and try to bridge the gap between what we said, and what we should have said.

Misunderstood: An Unrequited Love Story opened at Don't Tell Mama August 9 and after a successful run the show will play it's final performance on Saturday, August 21 at 7:30PM.

The show is slated as following Adam Fried, a young Jewish man from Ohio, as he leaves home to plant roots in New York City to find his two "bigs" in the Big Apple: Career and Love. Now, miles from home, New York wouldn't prove easy for Adam as he nearly escapes a serial stalker, finds Jesus on a bumper sticker, and eventually battles a serious coffee addiction. Adam longs for his friends and family back home but knows he has to stay in New York to follow his dream. Adam shares with us his scintillating stories, from a set bursting into flames mid-show during a summer stock performance in Michigan, to the annual Fried family's revival of Passover: The Musical, and the jungle of internet dating in the big city. Join Adam as he strives to build a life in New York while keeping his roots planted in Ohio.
