Broadway foodies Adam Chanler-Berat, Andy Señor Jr. and Matt Shingledecker kick off their food-related web series Broadway Bites with the premiere of their first episode "Times Square."
The web series, which can be found on their Broadway-related food blog www.bwaybites.com, aims to explore the New York City food scene with guest appearances from some of your favorite Broadway stars. The blog gives more of an in-depth personal account with mouth-watering photos, interviews, recipes and detailed reviews.
"You can learn a lot about a person in the simple act of sharing a meal. Broadway Bites is the perfect opportunity for me, Matt and Andy to discover new things about each other while expanding our appreciation for New York City and the art we make in it," says Adam Chanler-Berat.
"People want to know what show they should see and where they should eat. Food and Theatre make the perfect pairing, and we are excited about hosting a site and series that will take you backstage of two of New York City's greatest industries," says Andy Señor Jr.
"Virginia Wolfe said, 'One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.' Actors require all of these to perform at their best, so dine well we do, and we'll show you where," says Matt Shingledecker.
In the first episode "Times Square," the boys visit 3 new gourmet food stands, Nuchas Empanadas, Salume Paninis, and Snack Box, nestled in the heart of New York City's Times Square.

Adam Chanler-Berat was last seen playing "Mark Cohen" in the re-imagined off-Broadway staging of the Pulitzer Prize winning musical RENT. Previous credits include originating roles of "Peter" in PETER AND THE STARCATCHER at NYTW and "Henry" in the Pulitzer Prize winning musical NEXT TO NORMAL on Broadway. Adam's father was born and raised in Belgium and it was on his initial visit to Europe that he had his first bite of heaven, and so began his passionate love affair with food. To Adam, a meal is all about rediscovering one's past, having pride in one's heritage, and celebrating who and what make up the now.
Andy Señor Jr. made his professional debut in the Tony Award winning musical RENT as "Angel," playing the role on Broadway, London, Asia and US National Tours. While on the final Broadway Tour of RENT, he created "La Vie Boh...mmm," a food blog and web series that followed his culinary adventures around the world. He is currently the assistant director to Michael Greif on the Off Broadway Production of RENT at New World Stages and will be mounting the Japanese production in Tokyo this fall. His love of food goes beyond the simple act of eating. He believes that much like music and theatre, food brings people together, creating a communal experience that feeds both body and soul.
Matt Shingledecker was thrust into his first Broadway show, SPRING AWAKENING, during the last semester of his senior year at Elon University. He hit the road shortly after with the 1st National Tour of SPRING AWAKENING, where his love for good food, coffee, and beer melded with theater in 45 different cities over the course of 2 years. He later went on to play "Tony" in the Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY directed by Arthur Laurents and most recently finished his run as "Roger" in the 1st revival of RENT at New World Stages, where with Adam, Andy, and himself, Broadway Bites was born.
