The Actors Fund has announced that the previously scheduled benefit concert, THE LOWER DEPTHS - IN DEFENSE OF THE BARITONE VOICE featuring Marc Kudisch, has been cancelled. The concert was to play New World Stages on Monday, February 14th at 7:30pm for one night only.
The Actor's Fund has released the following statement on the cancellation:
"Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, The Actors Fund has cancelled the benefit evening "The Lower Depths - In Defense of the Baritone Voice," which was to star Tony Award nominated actor Marc Kudisch at New World Stages in New York City. For more information on future events, visit www.actorsfund.org."
In this one-man show, Kudisch takes a hard, humorous look at the history of the Baritone voice. Musical director Randy Redd was to be featured at the piano.
Marc Kudisch is the Broadway standard for leading men. His credits include "Beauty and the Beast", "High Society," "The Scarlet Pimpernel," "The Wild Party," "Bells are Ringing," "Thoroughly Modern Millie," "A Little Night Music," "Assassins," "The Highest Yellow," and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." His role as Trevor Graydon in "Thoroughly Modern Millie" earned him Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle nominations. As the Proprietor in the Tony-winning revival of "Assassins," he earned his second Drama Desk nomination, and garnered second Tony and Outer Critics Circle nominations for his performance as Baron Bomburst in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." His performance as Baron Bomburst in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." His performance in "9 to 5" brought him yet another (his third) Drama Desk and Tony nomination.
