Stage, film and television actor Shay Duffin passed away April 22 at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Duffin's death was related to complications from heart surgery. The actor was 79 years old.
Mr. Duffin, born in Dublin, starred in New York's "Confessions of an Irish Rebel" - a play about poet-playwright
Brendan Behan - in 2006. In the early 1990s, Duffin starred in "The Importance of Being Irish,"a show which he also wrote. Duffin also toured in a production of
James Joyce's "The Dead."
The actor's film credits include "Raging Bull," "Titanic," "Seabiscuit," "The Departed," and "Beowulf." TV appearances include "Due South," "Cagney & Lacey" and "Murder, She Wrote."

According to California Artists Radio Theatre, Mr. Duffin's final performance was on March 17, during which he sang and acted in a production of "Hyacinth Halvey," by Irish playwright,
Lady Augusta Gregory."
Shay Duffin's survivors include daughters Laura, Linda, Ruth and Susan. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at S
T. Bruno Catholic Church in Whittier, CA.
