Eurus, the new EP from acclaimed brother-sister duo The Oh Hellos is out now. The lead single, "Grow," recently premiered on American Songwriter, who proclaim, "The track ponders personal growth and open-mindedness, building from a gently delivered opening verse to a full-band singalong-a hallmark of the duo's sound-by its midpoint."Listen to the EP here: http://smarturl.it/Eurus
Eurus is the second EP in a series of four, which will be released in the coming months. Each EP is named after one of the four Greek mythological wind deities that bring the seasons. Throughout the series, there's an overarching question being asked: "Where did my ideas come from?" With each EP and the "wind" it represents, siblings Tyler andMaggie Heath are exploring the stages of answering that question.
Of the EP, Tyler reflects, "Once you've asked that first question, where did my ideas come from, it opens the floodgates for more of them. Wrestling with all these questions can ultimately lead to a fuller understanding of the world around you, and leave you with more empathy than you started with, but unfortunately can also leave you feeling alienated from the community or tribe you used to identify with. Since Eurus was the wind most closely associated with autumn, we wanted the music to capture the feeling of dark woods, dry branches, dead leaves, and wondering who had migrated-you, or your flock?"
In support of the release, the band will extensively tour North American dates this spring-kicking off February 21 at Washington, DC's 9:30 Club and making additional stops in Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Madison, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Los Angeles and Austin among many others.
In select cities, the band will offer a special VIP ticket package, which will include a private pre-show acoustic performance. For more information visithttp://theohhellos.com/ and see below.
The Oh Hellos began making music together in 2011 with a song written for their mother's birthday followed later that year with their self-titled, self-produced, independently released debut EP. The four-track recording featured the hit song "Hello My Old Heart," which received national airplay and currently has over 26 million streams on Spotify. Since forming, the sibling duo has built an impressive reputation for surrounding themselves with a rotating cast of pickers and players, numbering as many as 13 at any given time, often spilling into the audience.
