Tony nominee and Obie, Bessie, and Ethyl Eichelberger Award winner Mx. Justin Vivian Bond returns to the Abrons with an annual holiday concert that promises to make you feel good about feeling bad.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL, REIMAGINED BY Reid Farrington

Created and directed by acclaimed theater and new media artist Reid Farrington, and based on one of the most ubiquitous stories of all time, this exciting work takes the form of a Victorian-era phantasmagoria, conjuring up ghosts of the past, present, and future by integrating media and live theater with the well-known holiday classic.

Chris Forsyth curates two evenings of musical exploration. Meg Baird, Steve Gunn, and Loren Connors perform on December 16. Cian Nugent, William Tyler, and Forsyth perform on December 17.
FROM THE RUINS: ARTISTIC PROCESS & EXHIBITION SPACES
December 7 at 7 pm. The event is free.
In conjunction with Building the Neverending Ruin of the World, Juanli Carrión’s culled an experimental e-text from the e-mail conversation between the exhibition producers. Revolving around Juanli's project, "The Journey" is a conversation about the artistic process, addressing the roles of artists, exhibition spaces, institutions and curators, and their respective relationships with each other.
CLOSING RECEPTION FOR PRIZED VERNACULAR & GALLERY PERFORMANCE
December 16 from 6-8 pm. The event is free.
A reception to mark the closing of the three exhibitions in the series Prized Vernacular. At 7 p.m., JoNathan Durham will perform MRE Tomorrow, a series of sculptural actions in conjunction with the exhibition Parts and Labor.
THE KITCHEN PRESENTS Kyle Abraham/ABRAHAM.IN.MOTION: LIVE! THE REALIST MC
December 8-10 at 8 pm. Tickets are $15.
Inspired by Pinocchio’s plight to be a ″real boy,″ Kyle Abraham’s new ensemble dance work investigates gender roles in the black community and the quest for acceptance in the world of hip hop celebrity. Featuring dancers Rena Butler, Elyse Morris, Chalvar Monteiro, Rachelle Rafailedes, Hsiao-Jou Tang, and Maleek Malaki Washington.
