Aaron Tveit Talks Theatre vs. TV, Broadway Plans & More

Headlining theatre actor, LES MISERABLES breakout star and rising TV personality Aaron Tveit talks about film versus theatre as well as whether or not he sees a Broadway return in his future as as well as much more as part of a new interview.

Regarding whether or not Tveit envisions his tough guy cop character on Graceland breaking out into song anytime soon on the USA series, Tveit relates, with a laugh, "A lot of people have asked me that, but no, we haven't talked about it. I think it's a funny idea. I really don't know... it would be funny, but I can't see how they would fit it in, just with the rest of it."

In speaking of a return to the stage sometime soon, Tveit states, "I definitely miss being on stage. One nice thing about GRACELAND, too, is - hopefully we run a few years, but it's a cable schedule, so it's only half a year. I have half a year feasibly to do other things and be on stage or do a movie or sing. It keeps me able to do a lot of different stuff, which is great for me."

Additionally, in comparing the various mediums in which he has recently found success - film, TV and his first love, theatre - Tveit says, "I've been really, really fortunate in the last five years or so that I've gotten to work on stage, on television, and on film, which I think up until recently, you kind of got pigeonholed into one thing, so I've been really grateful that I've been able to do all three. And that's really just my goal. I just wanted to have a career doing this, and I want to be able to just do that for the rest of my career, to go back and forth."

Tveit concludes of his Broadway plans, "I can't wait to get back on stage. I don't know what it's going to be. I've said it before, but I'm excited 'cause I know one day I'm going to walk into the rehearsals room for a new show and have to learn new music and learn the script, and that's going to be really, really thrilling."
