BroadwayWorld has learned exclusively that Next to Normal and Wicked star Aaron Tveit will guest star on Law & Order: SVU in an episode airing April 21, 2010 on NBC. In the episode, called "Beef," Tveit plays Jan, an animal loving, yoga instructor who is questioned about the death of his girlfriend.
Tveit received the 2009 Clarence Derwent and Helen Hayes awards for his performance in Next to Normal. His other Broadway credits include Wicked (Fiyero) and Hairspray (Link) and national tour credits include Rent and Hairspray. He can be seen in the upcoming film Howl opposite James Franco and in the film Ghost Town, as well as in the recurring role of Tripp Van Der Bilt on the CW's "Gossip Girl."
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is an American police procedural television drama series set in New York City, where it is also primarily produced. Created and produced by Dick Wolf and airs on NBC, the series premiered on September 20, 1999 as a spin-off of Wolf's successful crime drama Law & Order. Currently in its 11th season, the series has produced 242 episodes to date.
