AVENUE Q -- winner of three 2004 Tony Awards, including Best Musical - will play its 1,500th performance on Broadway at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) on Sunday evening, March 4th. The AVENUE Q company will officially mark the occasion at the Monday, March 5th performance - with a brief, onstage ceremony following the show - when members of the original cast, all subsequent cast replacements on Broadway, and members of the Las Vegas Q company are expected in the audience.

AVENUE Q opened on Broadway on July 31, 2003 -- to great critical and popular acclaim.

AVENUE Q went on to win three top 2004 Tony Awards: Best Musical, Best Original Score of a Musical (Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx) and Best Book of a Musical (Jeff Whitty).

1,500 performances later, AVENUE Q continues to remain one of Broadway's biggest and most enduring successes, playing to enthusiastic sold-out audiences 8 times a week.

In June of last year, AVENUE Q opened its first international production in London's West End at the Noël Coward Theatre.

AVENUE Q -- the smash-hit musical about trying to make it in New York with big dreams and a tiny bank account -- is the creation of a host of talented young theatre artists, 30-somethings all: AVENUE Q has music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, book by Jeff Whitty, based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx; and directed by Jason Moore. AVENUE Q has puppets conceived and designed by Rick Lyon; musical supervision by Stephen Oremus, and choreography by Ken Roberson. AVENUE Q's scenic design is by Anna Louizos, costume design by Mirena Rada, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Acme Sound Partners.

AVENUE Q is produced on Broadway by Kevin McCollum, Robyn Goodman, Jeffrey Seller, Vineyard Theatre and The New Group.

The supremely talented current Broadway company of AVENUE Q features Christian Anderson, Jennifer Barnhart, Mary Faber, Evan Harrington, Ann Sanders, Howie Michael Smith and Haneefah Wood.
