Once-in-a-Lifetime "Avenue Q" Package: 2 Prime House Seat Tickets (New York, London, or U.S. Tour), PLUS Tony-Award Winning Author's Laptop INCLUDING Never-Before-Seen Files, PLUS *RARE* Book of Cut-Scenes, PLUS SIGNED copy of "Avenue Q: The Book"!
Up for charity auction is a one-of-a-kind package of items relating to the Tony Award-winning musical "Avenue Q."
1) TWO house seats for either the NYC Off-Broadway production, for the U.S. Tour (avenueqontour.com), or the London West End production at the Gielgud Theatre. Auction winner can choose performance date - once tickets are secured, tickets are nontransferable.
2) In addition, package includes the very laptop used to write the Tony Award-winning script for "Avenue Q" beginning with the show's development through its opening in New York City. The Sony Vaio PCG-Z505LS was owned and used by book writer Jeff Whitty from 2001-2003, and was present for hundreds of hours of creative meetings, workshops, rehearsals, and late late nights of writing. The words typed on this very keyboard have been performed many thousands of times in dozens of countries around the world.
3) Additionally, the computer's hard drive has been wiped and replaced with a clean version of Windows XP, and Jeff has included on the drive dozens of rare "Avenue Q" files including some pieces of early drafts, line notes for the actors and creative team, scripts for promotional events, notes on revisions made even after the Broadway opening, and other memorabilia (mundane to significant) which give a peek into what it took to get the show on the boards.
4) In addition, for the first time ever for charity, Jeff will include a copy of "I Have Never Lain With a Man," the fifth (and most updated) edition of "Avenue Q" cut-scenes, culled from approximately 200 pages of discarded material. This extremely rare item has previously only been given in numbered and signed editions to cast and crew members of "Avenue Q."
5) Finally, auction includes one copy of "Avenue Q: The Book" signed by Jeff to the auction winner.
Though the computer is in fine working condition, as a vintage computer its uses are limited - battery life is an issue -- and it bears some scars of musical theater development. However, such dings only give the item its musical theater history realness.
The laptop computer comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Jeff. He's been holding on to this item for years, saving it for the ultimate charity that could change the world decidedly for the better. Jeff decided that "Boob-Aid" is that charity.
