On December 22, 2005 AVENUE Q - winner of three 2004 Tony Awards, including Best Musical - will pass one of Broadway's most coveted mile-markers when it plays its 1,000th performance at the Golden Theatre (252 W. 45th Street) in New York. AVENUE Q began previews on Broadway on July 11, 2003 and opened to unprecedented critical and popular acclaim on July 31, 2003.

AVENUE Q went on to win three 2004 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, as well as Best Original Score of a Musical, and Best Book of a Musical. On September 8, 2005, a second production of AVENUE Q opened at WYNN LAS VEGAS Resort (3131 Las Vegas Blvd.), and continues there for an open-end run.

AVENUE Q -- the smash-hit musical about trying to make it in New York with big dreams and a tiny bank account -- is the creation of a host of talented young theatre artists: AVENUE Q has music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx (Tony Award), book by Jeff Whitty (Tony Award), based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx; and directed by Jason Moore. AVENUE Q has puppets conceived and designed by Rick Lyon; musical supervision by Stephen Oremus, and choreography by Ken Roberson. AVENUE Q's scenic design is by Anna Louizos, costume design by Mirena Rada, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Acme Sound Partners.

AVENUE Q is produced on Broadway by Kevin McCollum, Robyn Goodman, Jeffrey Seller, Vineyard Theatre and The New Group.

Starting Monday, December 26, 2005, AVENUE Q welcomes newest resident, cast member Mary Faber, who makes her Broadway debut in AVENUE Q, having been seen Off-Broadway in SLUT, JUNIE B. JONES, and THE TUTOR. Ms. Faber, who will portray the characters Kate Monster and Lucy The Slut, joins the current Broadway company of AVENUE Q, which includes: Christian Anderson (Nicky, Trekkie Monster), Jennifer Barnhart (Mrs. T, Bad Idea Bear), Natalie Venetia Belcon (Gary Coleman), Barrett Foa (Rod, Princeton), Jordan Gelber (Brian), and Ann Harada (Christmas Eve).
