Atlantic Rhythm Section comes to Emelin Theatre this weekend for a concert. Tickets are $39, and the event will be held Sat May 19 @ 8pm.
In the late 70’s, ARS, along with contemporaries Lynyrd Skynyrd, became known as the successors to the Allman Brothers –carrying the mantle of Southern Rock. With 15 albums of outstanding songwriting and entertaining live shows, ARS represents all the good things that the phrase classic rock implies. Over the years, ARS has established a broad and huge fanbase and charted a number of hits including So Into You and Imaginary Lover.
Coming up is Pirate School! Tickets are $18 adults; $13 children, and the show urns Sat Jun 2 @ 11 am & 1:30 pm.
Pirate School! is a madcap sea-faring comic vaudeville show for the whole family, where kids 4 and up are taught to be good pirates, and everyone discovers their "inner-swashbuckler." The Golden Age of the Buccaneer collides with magic, music, bubbles and mayhem on a hilarious romp. Ages 4+
New to Emelin is Paul Williams Still Alive. Tickets are $15, and the show is set for Sun June 3 @ 7:30 pm featuring special guest Paul Williams.
There was a point is the seventies when Paul Williams was everywhere. The hit songs he wrote dominated the charts, including Three Dog Night's "An Old Fashioned Love Song" and the Carpenters' "We've Only Just Begun". The diminutive star also appeared on the big and small screens. "Paul Williams Still Alive" is both a rollicking pop-culture flashback filled with great television and performance clips, and the humorous journey of an awkward documentarian and his reluctant subject. Yet it ultimately evolves into the touching tale of a man who has made peace with the beast that fame and celebrity awoke.
