AS WE LIE STILL to Run 7/14-27 at NYMF

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) presents As We Lie Still a new romantic musical fantasy with book by Olivia de Guzman Emile, Music and Lyrics by Patrick Emile. Michael Serrecchia directs a cast of six, including Olivia de Guzman Emile, George Michael Ferrie Jr., Clinton Greenspan, Erika Larsen, Michael A. Robinson*, and Travis Stuebing. A good magician always reveals his secrets. As We Lie Still is a new musical about Avi Leiter, a magician in New York at the turn of the 20th century who overcomes the struggles of a fledgling magic act. His assistant, Josephine, is the key to his most astonishing trick. Together, they rise to Vaudevillian fame - until the trick goes awry. Twenty years later, old, ruined, and alone, Avi must prepare one more illusion. As We Lie Still uses a spellbinding, contemporary score to tell a story of love and forgiveness, of life and death, of this world and the next.

As We Lie Still is an Official Selection of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival and is presented by The New York Musical Theatre Festival along with Olivia de Guzman Emile and Patrick Emile. As We Lie Still plays for five performances on the following schedule: Monday, July 14th at 6:00 pm; Wednesday, July 16th at 9:00 pm; Tuesday, July 22nd at 9:00 pm; Thursday, July 24th at 5:00 pm; Sunday, July 27th at 5:00 pm.

Patrick Emile (Music and Lyrics) is a composer, arranger, lyricist, multi-instrumentalist, and sound engineer working primarily out of the DFW area. He studied Theory and Composition at The University of North Texas College of Music. His past work includes scoring and arranging for Happily Ever After, an official selection of The New York International Fringe Festival 2011, as well as Starfield, a collaborative large-scale visual music installation commissioned by The Dallas Arts District. Recently Patrick had the honor of participating in the New Dramatists 2014 Composer-Librettist Studio. In May 2014, Patrick won the 2014 Frederick Loewe Award for Musical Theatre with collaborator, Carlos Murillo.
