Working Artists Theatre Project, in association with chashama, heats up the streets of Broadway this month with OPEN CALL! This free and interactive event invites audiences to attend a uniquely staged Broadway audition at Anita's Way. In OPEN CALL!, audiences experience an authentic New York City audition through dynamic interaction with performers from decades past preparing to audition for popular Broadway shows from the last century.

OPEN CALL is directed by Jessica Dermody and Hector Lugo featuring dramaturgy by John Alban Coulghlan, with Dave Bobb, Kristen Bough, Nicole Colina, Kandace Crystal, Matt Ebling, Jordan Fox, Krissy Garber, Jessica Goldstein, Justin Greer*, Alex Kip*, Lil Malinich, Charlotte Rigby, Gary Russo (2nd Avenue Construction Worker Sinatra), Hadiyya Smith, and Scott Westervelt (Mitzi Gaymore) comprising the cast.

Performances of OPEN CALL! run today June 6 @ 1:00pm and 5:00pm, Thursday June 7 @ 5:00pm, and Friday June 8 @ 1:00pm and 5:00pm at ANITA’S WAY, the through-block connecting W42nd and W43rd Street, between Broadway and 6th Avenue. Entrances available on 42nd and 43rd streets.

OPEN CALL! is FREE and open to the public. The project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Working Artists Theatre Project offers artistic growth opportunities by creating innovative, intelligent, and socially conscious artistic productions. Founded by Broadway talent, WAT PROJECT serves as a forum tailored for working artists to expand their experience to encompass a variety of theatricAl Fields and careers. The company is dedicated to showcasing talent, facilitating the artist’s evolution, providing career transition opportunities, and building genuine relationships within the New York artistic community.
