Taylor Richardson and Sadie Sink will share the title role of ANNIE on Broadway, beginning performances on Tuesday, July 30. Lilla Crawford will play her final performance as Annie on Sunday, July 28 at the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street).
Australian star Anthony Warlow (Oliver Warbucks) has also extended his contract with the production through December 8. As previously announced, Tony Award-winner Faith Prince joins ANNIE as Miss Hannigan on Friday, July 19.
"As we were preparing to cast the next Annie, I realized we had two wonderful candidates already in the orphanage. Both Taylor and Sadie are such unique young actresses, that I decided to let them share the role," commented director James Lapine. "Also, I am thrilled to have the great Anthony Warlow remain as our Warbucks into December. He is one of the finest actors I have had the pleasure to work with."
The schedule of performances for Richardson and Sink as Annie will be announced in coming weeks. Each girl will also play the orphan role of Duffy, when not on as Annie.
Taylor Richardson, 11, is originally from Richmond, Virginia. She originated the role of Duffy in the current production of ANNIE, and has also been the understudy for the title role of Annie. Her regional credits include Irving Berlin's White Christmas (Susan Waverly) and Honk!
Sadie Sink, 11, is originally from Brenham, Texas. Her regional credits include Annie (Annie), White Christmas (Susan Waverly). Her other favorites roles include Miracle Worker (Helen Keller), Parenthesis (Casey) and The Secret Garden (Mary Lennox).
In other casting news, ANNIE welcomes Gaby Bradbury (Pepper), Amaya Braganza (July) and Skye Alyssa Friedman (standby for the roles of Duffy, Pepper, July and Tessie) to the cast, beginning July 30. Current cast members Georgi James (Pepper), Madi Rae DiPietro (July), Junah Jang (Tessie) and Jaidyn Young (standby for Annie, Pepper, Duffy and July), will play their final performances on July 28. Also as of July 30, Tyrah Skye Odoms, currently playing the role of Kate, will play the role of Tessie. Brooklyn Shuck, currently a standby for the roles of Molly, Kate, Duffy, July and Tessie, will play the role of Kate. Emily Rosenfeld continues in the role of Molly.
Gaby Bradbury (Pepper) is originally from Philadelphia and is thrilled to be making her Broadway debut! Regional: Inherit the Wind, Under the Whaleback, The Music Man, Oliver!, Gypsy, A Christmas Carol, the world premiere of Macy's Yes, Virginia: The Musical, Charlotte's Web, Babes in Arms, Honk. She participated in an educational video at CHOP's Center for Autism Research.
