LaMonte McLemore, the tall n' dapper founder of six-time Grammy winning legends The 5th Dimension--with such generational mega hits as "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In" from HAIR, "Up-Up and Away," and "Stoned Soul Picnic"--brings his charming on-stage chat to New York City's posh Sugar Bar, 254 W. 72nd St. on Saturday, June 13, from 6 to 8 PM. In celebration of his hit memoir "From Hobo Flats the The 5th Dimension," Mr. McLemore will be interviewed by his biographer Robert-Allan Arno before taking questions from fans. "Mac" as he is warmly known, not only will share 40 years of uplifting, history-making adventures with The 5th Dimension, but his 50 years as the photographer of JET magazine's enticing "Beauty of the Week" feature. The humorously heartwarming story-teller will follow with a memoir-signing of "From Hobo Flats to The 5th Dimension," with books available at the venue, including photo ops for fans.
LaMonte enthuses, "We had so much success in Las Vegas with our recent book launch presentation; now we bring the fun to my wonderful fans in New York City at a beautiful space. Ashford and Simpson's Sugar Bar has special meaning as the team wrote one of The 5th Dimension's most beloved and downright sexy tunes, 'California Soul.' It will be a joyful, 'right on' event!"
To attend this anticipated "full house," fans are encouraged to make dinner/dessert reservations by calling Sugar Bar directly, mentioning "An Evening with LaMonte McLemore" for June 13. The on-stage interview will begin at 6 PM, Sugar Bar opens at 5 PM. For reservations call: 212-579-0222.
