A concert celebrating the city of lights!

World renowned New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra is set to present a tribute to composers George Gershwin and Cole Porter featuring standout vocalist Jennifer Sheehan tonight, June 5, in a program titled An American in Paris.

The official description of An American in Paris is as follows: "Multi-award winning performer Jennifer Sheehan joins conductor Matthew Oberstein and the 80-piece New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra for its new program, "An American in Paris" on Friday, June 5 at 8 pm at Symphony Space in New York. The program celebrates two iconic American composers with roots in France - George Gershwin and Cole Porter. Ms. Sheehan performs a selection of Porter songs, and the orchestra performs selections from Porter's musical Can-Can. The concert opens and closes with Gershwin (Girl Crazy Overture and An American in Paris suite). Also on the program, music by Ravel (Bolero, Pavane). Ms. Sheehan, a graduate of The Juilliard School, recently appeared at 54 Below in four performances of her critically acclaimed new show STARDUST: A Night in the Cosmos. www.JenniferSheehan.com."
