Amas Musical Theatre is a 42-year-old multicultural, non-profit performing arts organization dedicated to the creation, development and production of new musicals and to the training of young performing artists. The Academy, named for our founder Rosetta LeNoire ("Mother Winslow" on Family Matters) is designed for teenagers of all backgrounds between the ages of 14-20. Students are accepted into the program through auditions held in October 2010.

An Open House Workshop presentation is held in January for families and friends. In May of 2011, the Academy students perform a fully-produced Off-Off-Broadway Musical. Classes are held in midtown Manhattan.30 students are selected on the basis of talent, potential, ability and the desire to excel in the performing arts. Classes are conducted by established New York theatre professionals and offer the opportunity for students to develop their talents in a nurturing and supportive environment. In addition to scheduled classes, special guest artists meet and work with students.Videos
