Afghan Women: A History of Struggle, a new documentary film by Kathleen Foster, chronicles their decades-long courageous struggle for equality. They give us an urgent and necessary look at the hidden story of US involvement in Afghanistan, from the secret financing of terrorist groups on the Afghan - Pakistan border in the 70's to today's military escalation. They shatter the myth that the 2001 intervention brought them freedom, and expose US interest in Afghanistan as a drive to control a region with vast oil reserves.
"Exposes the big lie of the U.S. freeing Afghanistan. Makes the connection between U.S. and Islamic fundamentalism, global and local politics, religion, money, and oil." Nawal El Saadawi, Egyptian Author
