Tar Beach, her first children's book, won The Caldecott Award and was made into an animated short for HBO. The original Story Quilt is in the collection of The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City. The Faith Ringgold Children's Museum of Art and Storytelling, designed by noted architect David Adjaye, will open in Harlem's historic Sugar Hill in 2012.American People, Black Light: Faith Ringgold's Paintings of the 1960s will be on view from September 12 through December 23, 2010 at the Neuberger Museum in Purchase, NY.
