Alan Menken may soon be gunning for the EGOT once more.

After his spin with composing a song for ABC's comedy THE NEIGHBORS, Deadline reports that the network has ordered an off-cycle pilot for a fairytale musical comedy from Menken, lyricist Glenn Slater, and NEIGHBORS creator Dan Fogelman.

Titled GALAVANT, the project "centers on handsome Prince Galavant and his quest for revenge over the King who stole his one true love."

Slater and Menken received a 2013 Emmy nomination for their song on THE NEIGHBORS, titled "More Or Less The Kind Of Thing You May Or May Not Possibly See On Broadway."

In a recent interview with BroadwayWorld, Menken spoke about the possibility of achieving the EGOT one day. "TV is a medium where I've been an outsider for the most part...it's not an area I've really been deeply involved in, so it would be a level of welcome and acceptance that would be extraordinary," he said. "And is it likely to happen? I don't know. I have not a clue, to be honest. But I put my best foot forward, and if it works out, great, and if not, I still want to keep working in television, as well as the stage."

Eight-time Academy Award-winner Alan Menken is known for his work on LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, as well as Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, POCAHANTAS, ENCHANTED and TANGLED, which brought him his first Grammy Award for "I See The Light".

Menken has also composed for Broadway's NEWSIES, for which he won a Tony Award, as well as SISTER ACT and LEAP OF FAITH. He is currently redeveloping ALADDIN and HUNCHBACK for Broadway, among other projects.
