A WOMAN OF WILL, a new musical starring Golden Globe Award-winning writer and performer Amanda McBroom ("The Rose") will play its final performance on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9, 7pm. Preview performances began Off-Broadway on Saturday, September 17 at the Daryl Roth Theatre (101 East 15th Street at Union Square). The official Opening Night was Sunday, October 2. At the conclusion of the run, the show will have played 16 previews and nine regular performances.
A WOMAN OF WILL has lyrics by Amanda McBroom, music by Joel Silberman and a book by Ms. McBroom and Mr. Silberman. The musical features choreography by two-time Tony Award winner Thommie Walsh, direction by Mr. Silberman and is produced by Jack & Julie Nadel and David A. Braun.
Originally titled Lady Macbeth Sings the Blues, A WOMAN OF WILL had its world premiere production at The Rubicon Theatre in Ventura, CA in June 2004.
A WOMAN OF WILL is a musical adventure of a lyricist faced with difficult choices in both her personal and professional life, and what results is a celebration of life, love and literature, bursting forth from 15 original songs.
The show features characters performed in voice-overs by George Ball, Patrick Cassidy, Jim Dale, André De Shields, Alix Korey and Jay Rogers.
A WOMAN OF WILL has scenic, projection and lighting design by Trefoni Michael Rizzi; costume design by Tobin Ost; sound design by Lewis Mead and orchestrations by two-time Tony nominee Larry Hochman.
A WOMAN WILL plays Wednesday-Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
