A Very Special Family Jazz Concert is Coming to Symphony Space Image

This winter marks Eastside Westside Music Together's 25th year of making Music Together with families on the Upper East and Upper West Sides in Manhattan. What better way to celebrate this exciting milestone than with a special family concert! Music Together All Jazzed Up! will be held at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street on Sunday, March 18th at 5:30pm. Families with children of all ages are welcome.

The event will be led by singer/actress and owner Deanna deCampos, along with the talented team of ESWS Music Together teachers, with music arranged and conducted by tenor saxophonist Ned Otter. Joining Ned will be Tardo Hammer on piano, Jeff Gordon on saxophone, Mark Taylor on drums, and Paul Gill on bass, a stellar ensemble of world-class musicians. With a jazzy twist on classic Music Together favorites, this interactive, family-fun musical event will have you clapping, tapping, and wiggling on the offbeat!

Deanna's love of musical theatre drew her to New York City from her native California, and shortly after having her first child in the early 90's, discovered the Music Together program as a young mom. She quickly realized that she wanted to teach this ground-breaking early childhood music education program herself so she took the Music Together three-day teacher training and found a small studio space on Riverside Drive from which to offer classes. Starting with one group of seven families in the spring of 1993, Deanna's fledgling business grew by leaps and bounds, doubling in size semester after semester. In 1994, the late Sally Woodson, a dear friend and fellow performer, joined her and together their business flourished, expanding into preschools and to the Upper East Side. Over the last 25 years, ESWS Music Together has brought music into the lives over 40,000 Manhattan families and continues to thrive today. Deanna and her team continue to expand their community of family music-makers while maintaining their heart and commitment to the mission to make the world a better place -- by making it more musical.

Tickets are $10 per adult in advance, $15 at the door. No charge for kids! All proceeds for this event go to ArtStrides, a 501c3 non-profit organization bringing music to at-risk children in NYC.
