The New One: Painfully True Stories from a Reluctant Dad (2020)

Adapted from the live show and the comedy album of the same name, the book version of his one-man Broadway show delves deeper into the subject of parenthood, digging into his darkest and funniest thoughts about the decision to have a child. Along with hilarious and poignant stories he has never shared before, the book also features poetry written by Birbiglia's wife and poet, Jen Stein.

Sleepwalk with Me and Other Painfully True Stories (2010)

Birbiglia adapted his acclaimed 2008 one-man show into this 2010 book which debuted at #29 on the hardcover nonfiction New York Times Bestseller List and number four on the hardcover nonfiction section of the Washington Post Political Bookworm Best Sellers. The book was also a finalist for the 2011 Thurber Prize for American Humor.
