Fair Anger Productions is proud to present the world premiere production of A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again as part of the 19th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. This groundbreaking essay by David Foster Wallace (Infinite Jest, Consider the Lobster) on the pleasures and perils of luxury cruise ships has been adapted for the stage as a one-person show by actor Christopher Duva (The Voysey Inheritance, The Elephant Man [2002], www.christopherduva.com). With slide projections, illustrations and animation created by designer Chris Muller (Laurie Anderson's Scenes from the Nerve Bible, Alvin Ailey Dance Co.), Wallace's essay becomes a fully-realized theatrical production.

In A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again, Duva (as DFW) will describe how he barely survived the "insanity-producing pampering" he sustained while on assignment aboard a 7-Night Caribbean Cruise. From the solicitous fun-managers, the Dickensian crewmen, the beautiful Petra to Captain Video, the characters who populate the "floating wedding cake" come to life in this adaptation of Wallace's tragicomic tale of Americans adrift.

Suzanne Weber, creator of numerous one-person shows as Anita Liberty (Aspen Comedy Festival, New York Comedy Festival, Public Theater, HERE) and author of the bestselling books How to Heal the Hurt By Hating and How to Stay Bitter Through the Happiest Times of Your Life, directs the production.
