Masterworks Broadway continues to explore the rich history of its unrivaled cast recording and film soundtrack catalogs with the release of three musical rarities previously unavailable on CD -Seven Come Eleven (July 16), A Little Night Music (August 13) and Cowardy Custard (September 10).

A rarity even in its LP iteration, Seven Come Eleven was the sixth in a series of witty, elegant and original café revues invented and produced between 1956 and 1968 by the urbane polymath, Julius Monk. By the time it opened in 1961, Monk and his revues had become must-sees for the New York City cognoscenti. The cast - as ever, attired in tuxedos and black gowns - included future Tony Award winner Mary Louise Wilson (the 1998 Cabaret revival, Grey Gardens), as well as Rex Robbins, who would later partner with Angela Lansbury in the 1974 Gypsy revival and Philip Bruns, who would find fame as a character actor on TV, playing the father in Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman and as the original Morty Seinfeld on Seinfeld. Seven Come Eleven will be released exclusively for purchase via MasterworksBroadway.com on July 16 in a limited quantity of Manufacture-On-Demand CDs as well as digital download. The CD will be available through Arkiv Music on August 13, plus downloads through digital service providers the same day.

The soundtrack of the 1978 movie version of Stephen Sondheim's Broadway masterpiece, A Little Night Music finally finds its way to CD. Directed by Hal Prince, the all-star cast features Elizabeth Taylor, who sings the famous "Send in the Clowns," Diana Rigg, Lesley-Ann Down, Len Cariou and Hermione Gingold. This newly-remastered CD is transferred from the original stereo masters, and includes a previously unreleased instrumental cue, along with two other instrumental cues taken from the mono soundtrack of the film. The complete version of "Every Day a Little Death" is also included from the mono soundtrack, as the carriage ride verse written for the film was not included on the stereo master. Featuring liner notes by Sondheim archivist Peter E. Jones,A Little Night Music will be released exclusively for purchase via MasterworksBroadway.com on August 13 in a limited quantity of Manufacture-On-Demand CDs as well as digital download. The CD will be available through Arkiv Music on September 10, plus downloads through digital service providers the same day.

The story of Noël Coward's life told through song and biographical snippets, Cowardy Custard started as part of the City of London Festival in 1972 running for over a year with 405 performances. Featuring songs and scenes from Coward's works of the '20s through the '60s, Cowardy Custard includes "You Were There," "Mad About the Boy," "The Stately Homes of England," "I Wonder What Happened to Him?" and - perhaps most memorably - "Marvelous Party," sung by Tony winner Patricia Routledge. Recorded by the original cast of the Mermaid Theatre production, this double CD set will be released exclusively for purchase via MasterworksBroadway.com on September 10 in a limited quantity of Manufacture-On-Demand CDs as well as digital download. The double set will be available through Arkiv Music on October 8, plus downloads through digital service providers the same day.
