A Class Act NY has announced the launch of Camp ACA.  CAMP ACA's One Week Broadway Summer Camp, August 13-August 17, 2007 will give students the unique opportunity to work with Broadway stars and industry professionals, as well as NYC casting directors and talent agents.

"Never before has there been a Camp Program of this magnitude that affords Campers up-close and personal training with the very best that the Entertainment Industry has to offer! Jessica Rofé Cates, wife of prominent Hollywood Director, Gil Cates, Jr. and Marc Tumminelli, Program Director and well-known NYC Director of Youth Theatre, have assembled this impressive list of prominent stars and industry folks through their joint connections in the often-elusive Entertainment Industry. The first half of the 9 am- 5 pm day, is devoted to Workshop Sessions where Broadway Stars & Theatre Experts work with Campers on their particular craft. These Workshops include everything from the art of theatre craft to stage combat and audition technique. The latter part of the day is spent rehearsing a Broadway Style Revue that will be performed at the end of the Camp Week for family and friends! As an added bonus, Campers attend a Broadway Matinee on Wednesday, August 15th to see what they have learned and how it translates to live performance!," as press materials describe the program.

"Campers will come away with practical knowledge of this exciting and challenging industry, in a non-threatening, non-competitive atmosphere." CAMP ACA will be at Ripley-Grier Studios in Midtown Manhattan.

"Seeing the need for quality acting, musical theatre, on-camera and dance workshops for children and teens, Jessica Rofé Cates, (former Casting Director) and Marc Tumminelli (Actor/Director), started A Class Act NY in 2005, with their very successful weekend workshop series.  They brought their theatre programs to New York City public schools to serve as their after-school arts program. In 2006, A Class Act NY produced and directed Manhattan School for Children's spring production of Into the Woods Jr."

Camp ACA is geared towards ages 8-15. The cost is $625 and includes ticket to the Broadway Matinee. For more information and to reserve a space, call (212) 636-9172 or visit www.aClassActNY.com.
