A One-Day Commercial Acting Workshop will take place on Sunday, September 30, 2007 from 11AM - 3PM.

Ages 12-16 may participate in the workshop, which will be held at Ripley-Grier Studios (520 8th Ave, between 36th and 37th Streets, 16th Floor).

"Work with Pat Goodwin of Telsey + Co Casting Agency and ACA program director Marc Tumminelli on how to act and audition for the camera. Then strut your stuff in front of Commercial Youth Agent, Barbara Coleman from Innovative Artists Agency, one of NYC's most prestigious commercial agencies!  Don't miss this amazing opportunity to work with pro's on everything you need to know about commercial acting!," state press notes.

Space is limited. The workshop is $250.

In other news, Gil Cates Jr. - the husband of A Class Act artistic director Jessica Rofe Cates - recently directed the upcoming feature film Deal, featuring (per IMDB.com) theatre veteran Charles Durning (The Best Man, The Gin Game, Inherit the Wind), as well as Burt Reynolds, Jennifer Tilly, Bret Harrison ("The Loop," "Grounded for Life") and Shannon Elizabeth.  The screenplay was written by Cates and Mark Weinstock.  The film concerns an ex-gambler whose  protégé becomes his competitor when they get involved in the world series of poker.  It will be released by MGM this fall.
