A Class Act NY Announces New Performing Classes for Kids

A Class Act NY is launching an 8-week ongoing class for young stars in NYC. Classes will be geared towards children ages 5-8 and will be held in a convenient Upper West Side location.

"Classes are taught by professional working actors many with Broadway credits! The level of education a child receives from A Class Act NY is unlike any other acting studio in NYC. This series will introduce kids to the magic of the performing arts in a non-threatening, non-competitive atmosphere and boost your child's self-esteem while teaching them the fundamentals ofperformance," state press notes.

A listing of classes follows:

"Sing Your Heart Out," ages 7-8.
"Does your child love to sing? Then this class if for you! Introduce your child to Classic & Contemporary Showtunes! Kids work on solo and ensemble pieces. They will learn proper vocal technique, diction and ear training! Then strut their stuff in a final performance for family & friends!

"Pretend and Play," ages 5-6.
"Does your child need a creative outlet or agreat confidence builder? Tap into your child's imagination through improvisation, theatre games, mime and movement. This class is designed to boost a child's self-esteem in a non-competitive, playful environment. Class culminates in a final performance for family and friends!"

Classes are held on the Upper West Side of Manhattan at: Ripley- Grier Studios 131 w. 72nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam and begin Monday, September 17th and Tuesday, September 18th, respectively.

"Sing Your Heart Out" is held for 8 Mondays: Mondays, Sept. 17th– Monday, Nov. 12th.  There is no class on Monday, October 8th in observence of Columbus Day. Classes are from 4:00-5:00 PM.

"Pretend & Play" is held for 8 Tuesdays: Tuesdays, Sept 18th-Tuesday, Nov. 13th.  There is no class Tuesday, Nov. 6th in observance of Election Day.

The Fall Weekend Workshop Series with Broadway stars and industry professionals will be announced shortly.
