Theatre Direct and Broadway Classroom announced today that the curtain again will be raised this summer for the 9th Annual Broadway Teaching Lab; an intensive three-day series of workshops for theatre educators, and taught by some of the best choreographers, casting directors, singers, dancers, stage managers, and costume and lighting designers on Broadway. The yearly event, will take place July 14th-16th, at Chelsea rehearsal studios (151 W 26th St).

The hugely popular Broadway Teaching Lab provides an encouraging platform for theatre educators and Broadway professionals to exchange ideas and engage in creative collaboration. Taught in an intimate and inspiring setting, the hands-on workshops will help educators teach their students audition skills and Broadway choreography as well as how to create new and inventive ways to produce their own local productions.

"The Broadway Teaching Lab offers theatre educators and directors a one-of-kind opportunity to interact with Broadway professionals and learn practical skills that they can share with their school and community theatres back home," said Heather Jones, director of Broadway Classroom.

Program highlights may include workshops in Audition Techniques, Choreography, Creative Playwriting, Improvisation, Stage Combat, Musical Theatre as well as conversations and performances with some of today's hottest Broadway professionals. Participants have the opportunity to earn "in service hours" and/or receive Graduate Credit through the University of Nevada Las Vegas. The three-day 9th Annual Broadway Teaching Lab experience includes:
Three days of intensives, workshops and seminars
Tickets for four Broadway shows (Wicked, Hair, West Side Story and South Pacific) Orchestra/Front Mezz seating
