Straight from "The Kingdom" -- where a feisty princess who's inclined to rock out joins a local racecar driver who creates blazing guitar solos when he's not blazing around the track -- Princess Katie & Racer Steve bring their one-of-a-kind combination of drop-dead great singing, sterling musicianship, and sparkling, kid-oriented comedy to a "CD Unleashed Show" celebrating the release of their new album, Tiny Cool, at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 18 at 92YTribeca, 200 Hudson Street, NYC. This show is part of 92YTribeca's "B.Y.O.K." (Bring Your Own Kid) Concert Series. Kids are encouraged to dress as rock stars or in any costume of their choice!

The high-energy show will feature tunes from Tiny Cool, along with favorites from Princess Katie & Racer Steve's critically acclaimed CDs, Songs for the Coolest Kids and Fast & Feisty, offering contemporary takes on popular music sounds ranging from jazz and swing to neo-Latin and electric rock ‘n' roll to bossa nova, Motown, and 12-bar blues. Princess Katie & Racer Steve use cool music, hip lyrics and zany skits to bring home messages about cultural acceptance, winning, losing, sharing, bullying, making friends, kindness, fairness, sibling appreciation, world peace, and just plain having fun. Much more than just a concert, the show - featuring Princess Katie, Racer Steve, Space the Bass, and Crash the Drummer -- is a fully conceptualized, fully staged entertainment experience for all ages.

Princess Katie is a strong, self-possessed, modern princess, who wears her gown and tiara as a work outfit but kicks back in her jeans when work is done. Katie O'Sullivan's former life as an improv and sketch comic stands her in good stead for this role. Steve Borne's real life hobby is racecars, and he's performed in bands for many years, so the guitar-playing "Racer Steve" is a natural for him.

Spontaneity and surprise are key to Princess Katie & Racer Steve's shows. You never know what they'll dream up. Katie O'Sullivan says, "I just can't seem to do a show unless it's spectacular for the kids!" Think confetti, streamers, super-sized beach balls, a conga line, the freeze dance, tattoos, a missing dragon, and swing dancing! A huge, inflatable heart "spreads the love" throughout the show, bouncing all over the hall, so that everyone is included. Katie often brings her giant prize wheel and spins it to choose songs or activities. Princess Katie & Racer Steve might hand out mini racing flags so kids can wave them every time they hear "Go, Go, Go" in a song about Racer Steve's car racing. For "Sneakers," Katie has GIANT sneakers to wear under her princess dress. There's even a Princess Katie & Racer Steve hotline phone on which comic calls come in from time to time during the performance, while Princess Katie is trying to find her dragon. Princess Katie & Racer Steve will meet fans and sign copies of Tiny Cool after the show.

Says Racer Steve (aka Steve Borne), "We're really working toward entertaining kids on every level, not only through the music, but also by making them laugh. Behind everything we create, there's an element of humor, and we're so happy to see that the kids, get it and laugh along with us."

Princess Katie & Racer Steve's Tiny Cool CD Unleashed Show will take place at 92YTribeca, located at 200 Hudson Street in NYC, on Sunday, April 18. 11:00 A.M. Tickets are $15 (children under 2 go free). For more information call (212) 601-1000) or visit www.92Y.org.
