61st Annual Tony Awards to be Held June 10

The 61st annual Tony Awards will be held on June 10th, according to Variety.

Nominations will be announced on May 15th.  The eligibility cutoff date has been set for May 9th.

It was also previously announced that this year's Tony Honors will be presented to Forbidden Broadway creator Gerard Alessandrini, William Morris agent Samuel (Biff) Liff, LaMaMa ETC founder and off-off-Broadway pioneer Ellen Stewart and the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop.  They will receive their awards at a ceremony on October 24th at Tavern on the Green.

The Tonys are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. At the League, Gerald Schoenfeld is Chairman and Charlotte St. Martin is Executive Director. At the Wing, Sondra Gilman is Chairman, Doug Leeds is President and Howard Sherman is Executive Director. For Tony Award Productions, Elizabeth I. McCann is Managing Producer and Joey Parnes is Coordinating Producer.
