Jennifer Ashley Tepper Named New Director of Programming at 54 Below

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, has announced plans to augment its diverse programming with a varied new series of in-house productions including a new interview series, a new musicals-in-concert series (following-up on the success of the club's wildly successful High Fidelity in Concertevent), and a program for new composers. The venue will continue to present its popular Sondheim Unplugged series featuring some of Broadway's brightest stars sharing performances and behind-the-scenes anecdotes from their favorite Sondheim musicals.

Current Director of Programming, Phil Geoffrey Bond, will assume the newly-created position of Director of Original Programming, overseeing the production of these new, in-house series. Additionally, Bond will continue to operate 54 BELOW's ongoing relationship with Celebrity Cruises, sending 54 BELOW artists around the world on Celebrity vessels.

54 BELOW is delighted to announce the addition of Jennifer Ashley Tepper to their programming team as the new Director of Programming. Tepper brings a vast knowledge of musical theatre to her new position. A musical theatre historian and producer, Tepper was recently the Director of Marketing and Communications for Davenport Theatrical, with Broadway credits including Macbeth, The Performers, and Godspell. Other credits include [title of show] on Broadway, the world premiere of the musical Bloodsong of Love at Ars Nova, Tony Kushner's iHo, Things To Ruin, the Bistro Award-winning concert series If It Only Even Runs A Minute and Joe Iconis & Family most recently at 54 Below.

In addition to the new series of in-house productions, audiences can expect an exciting fall line up at54 BELOW. Recently added to the performance schedule are Joanna Gleason, Duncan Sheik, Emily Skinner, John Tartaglia, Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Robin De Jesus, Jarrod Spector, Donna Vivino & David Zippel, Martin Charnin, Lindsay Mendez, Penny Fuller, Anita Gillette and return engagements by Charles Busch, Ann Hampton Callaway, Telly Leung, Tony DeSare, Marilyn Maye, Lee Roy Reams, and more.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, is the new performance venue in the grand tradition of New York City nightlife. A few blocks from the heart of Times Square and just below the legendary Studio 54, 54 BELOW is a classically designed state-of-the art nightclub in the theatre district that hosts audiences with warmth and style. The venue provides a food and beverage menu from early evening through the wee hours of the morning that is worthy of the world-class entertainment on the stage. In their description of 54 BELOW, The New York Times writes "the club has the intimacy of a large living room with unimpeded views and impeccable sound; there is not a bad seat. Its sultry after-hours ambiance is enhanced by brocade-patterned wall panels planted with orange-shaded lanterns. And the atmosphere is warmer and sexier than in Manhattan's other major supper clubs." Located at 254 West 54th Street, 54 BELOW features up to three shows nightly with cover charges ranging from $15-$95.

For generations, musical theatre writers have come to New York City to change the world. "Once Upon A Time In New York City" is a concert series about the people who have changed THEM. After a sold-out first edition, the series returned to Joe's Pub yesterday, February 3, and BroadwayWorld brings you complete concert coverage below!

The concert series featured musical theatre writers- who are ages 19 to 90, who were born everywhere from Kansas City to San Francisco to Montreal, who are established and who are emerging- each writing a song about someone who has changed their idea of New York City.

The concert featured 15 world premiere songs, written by David Are, David Austin (Writing Arthur, the upcoming Beaches), three-time Academy Award winner Burt Bacharach (Promises Promises) & two-time Tony Award winner Steven Sater (Spring Awakening), Anna Ty Bergman & Alexander Sage Oyen, Nick Blaemire (Glory Days), Jeff Blumenkrantz (Urban Cowboy), Joseph Church, Michael Finke, Francesca Garrard, Amanda Green (Hands on a Hardbody, Bring It On), Maribeth Graham & Dana P. Rowe (Witches of Eastwick, Zombie Prom), Doug Katsaros & Amanda Yesnowitz (the upcoming Somewhere In Time), Mike Pettry, Sam Salmond, and Georgia Stitt (Mosaic, Hello! My Baby).
