FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade will present the third annual Queerly, a festival seen through lavender-colored glasses, June 23-July 1 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery).

This year, we're bringing together a panoply of performers from New York City and beyond for a gender-liminal, super-gay, non-conformist, totally butch, aggressively femme and subversive AF celebration of all things LGBTQA (LMNOP). Lezzie with a Z

Written & Performed by Caitlin Lee Reid

Caitlin Lee Reid stars in Lezzie with a Z a queered cabaret featuring musical theatre classics and peppered with Reid's dry wit and own real life tales of being gay-married and gay-divorced by 27, breaking the lesbian glass ceiling of musical theatre, and learning to strap-on and sing out.

WITH YOU!

Written & Performed by Una Aya Osato

WITH YOU! is a queer sports rom-com about a U.S. college rugby team's love for the game and each other, brought to the stage via one person's body. A hilarious show about figuring out which team to play for, this quasi-autobiographical comedy is award-winning performer/playwright Una Aya Osato's newest show, based on her experiences playing college rugby for Wesleyan University.

Queer Memoir

Directed by Kelli Dunham

Queer Memoir is New York's longest-running and most startlingly earnest LGBT themed storytelling series. In this special edition, we're sharing stories of the drama, the danger and the delight that have been a part of the almost 30 years of the worldwide Dyke March events...as well as other pride marches and parades.

Created & Directed by Michole Biancosino, led by the writing of Charlie O'Leary

Featuring Kevin R. Free, Bixby Elliot, Kathleen Warnock & Jordan Sebastian Bonner

As LGBTQ rights become once again threatened, an ensemble of Queer writer/ performers have responded by devising Landmarks & TRANSformations a piece that puts the focus on individual LGBTQ lives in 2017 and creates -with the audience - new everyday queer rituals from the crazy concoction of tears, terror, laughter, and love that marks our era. Against the backdrop of the 2015 landmark legislation of Marriage Equality, the recent 2016 election results posing a threat to that life-changing legislation, and an uncertain future for basic human rights in the year 2017, a company of writers, poets, activists, and artists will perform this piece about their own personal landmarks and transformations as queer Americans.

Based on his critically acclaimed memoir that Interview called "as funny as an evening with Carrie Fisher" and winner of a FRIGID Festival "Audience Choice Award."

A New Play Reading, Written & Directed by Zhailon Levingston

When the walls of prison rub up against the walls of identity, love can be a violent thing. The Hole is a new play by Zhailon Levingston, which explores the relationship and personal struggles of two inmates in solitary confinement. A loose adaption of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, this play explores the illusions, memories, nightmares, dreams, and delusions of the inmates locked in "the hole".

FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade is a theater development group with a focus on new work that produces a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater every season. FRIGID's Resident Artist Program offers a home to a select group of Independent theater artists, pooling together a great deal of talent and energy. FRIGID New York grew out of the annual FRIGID Festival, the first and only festival of its kind in New York City to offer artists 100% of their box office proceeds, and Horse Trade Theater Group, a self-sustaining theater development and management group.
