Circling the globe and spinning circles around the competition, 360 Allstars boasts a stellar cast of world-renowned athletes, dancers and musicians in an exhilarating theatrical experience at The New Victory Theater from tonight, November 14 - 30, 2014.
Produced by Onyx Productions, 360 Allstars cleverly replaces conventional circus forms with contemporary performance styles. As thumping live music from a master musician and a chart-topping beatboxer set the tone, breakdancers bound onto the stage in place of acrobats, a BMX flatlander subs in for a unicyclist and amazing tricks by a basketball freestyler will open up a new world of juggling. Count the spins of a roue cyr artist as his wheel goes round and round and you'll soon be dizzy with excitement from this radical showcase of talent.
Peter Sore is a professional BMX Flatland rider from Hungary who flaunts serious skills as an International Cup winner and two-time BMX Freestyle World Contest champion in Flatland riding, an artistic form described as "cycling meets breakdancing."
Rashaun Daniels, born and raised in Troy, New York, is one of the world's greatest basketball freestylers, giving the Harlem Globetrotters a run for their money with his larger than life personality and exceptional skills as (what else?) "Basketball Man!"
Rhys Miller, from Australia, is known as the Spin King for his gravity-defying abilities with the roue cyr wheel. Also adept in acro-balance, juggling, skateboarding and on the rola bola, the multi-talented Rhys counts magic as a hobby, too.
Jared Graham, AKA B-Boy Leerok, from New Zealand, was a winner of the 2010 Hip Hop International 3-on-3 B-Boy World Battles in Las Vegas and has a reputation for his astonishingly quick footwork and effortless power-moves.
Youssef El Toufali, AKA B-Boy Super G, from Belgium, won the UK World B-Boy Solo Championships in 2002 and has spent the last six years working for Cirque Du Soleil in their Grammy Award-winning show LOVE. Oh, and did we mention? He is also the current Guinness World Record holder for headspins (137 rotations in a minute!).
Sam Perry from Perth, Australia, is a one man orchestra equipped with nothing more than a loop station, effects pedal and microphone. As a live-looping beatbox master, he layers complex beats, heavy bass lines and rich harmonies to thrilling effect.
Gene Peterson, the show's director and prize-winning percussionist, is an exceptional drummer, pianist, composer and producer. In 2006, he won the Billy Hyde's National Drum Play-Offs and has since established himself as one of Australia's leading musicians. Peterson, together with Sam Perry, composed the music for 360 Allstars; lighting design is by Geoff Squires and video design is by Freddy Komp.
