33rd Empire State Arm Wrestling Finale Held at Port Authority Bus Terminal 11/18

The New York Arm Wrestling Association announced today that the 33rd Annual Empire State Golden Arm Tournament of Champions will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2010 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Port Authority Bus Terminal's North Wing/Main Concourse at 625 8th Avenue New York, NY and the final matches should begin at 3:30 P.M... Over 100 men and women are expected compete for the chance to be crowned Empire State Golden Arm Champion and spectators have an opportunity to watch the event for free. Competition is open to the public for a $25 entry fee for amateurs and $35 for pros and includes a free T-shirt to first 50 entrants. There are 13 weight class categories for men and women and contestants are encouraged to weigh-in and register early. The Proud Sponsors are Supercuts® and Ironmind® Captain's of Crush® Grippers.

Custom half-pound 4" medallions will be awarded ion for first, second and third place in each weight class and $100 cash prizes will be given for first place in each pro weight class, while amateurs will receive medallion awards only. The day's overall strongest arms, (Male-Right and Left) and female (R) will be crowned with Empire State MVP awards and receive an additional $200 in bonus cash prizes. Any man who could win the right and left overall would win the ultimate cash prize of $800. The 2010 NY State Arm Wrestler of the year will also be chosen.

"The Empire State Golden Arm Tournament of Champions is New York City's oldest and most prestigious sought-after title," said Gene Camp, founder and president of the New York Arm Wrestling Association (NYAWA)." Camp continued, "This event is a culmination of the 33rd anniversary season and it's going to be a very exciting to watch because the event is loaded with top talent from all over the tri-state area and far beyond." The Empire State Championship is the final event of the New York Golden Arm Series where two preliminary championships were held this year for both amateurs and pros. Among those expected to compete locally are NYC firefighter Mike Ayello from Deer Park, NY who upset the 27-time National Champion Mike Selearis from Elmhurst, Queens at the 33rd Annual Queensboro Arm Wrestling Championships in September. Travis Bagent from West Virginia will be also be there to defend the Empire State Title and Brooklyn Champion Joyce Boone is favored to win the Women's Open Category.

The 2009 Empire State Champions will return to defend their titles and the 2009 NYC Big Apple Grapple International champions will also be invited in this multi-talented high-profile arm wrestling championship event. Contestants and teams are expected to compete locally; and from as far away as Russia and Turkey and Puerto Rico.
