29th Street Playwrights Collective New Works Series presents a staged reading of LUST & LIES by Robin Rice at the Bernie Wohl Theater on Monday, November 13, at 7pm. Kenny Wade Marshall will direct.

Was it the wife? Was it the sexy stranger? Passion and revenge boil over in 1831. Some things never change. LUST & LIES was inspired by "The Murder of Dr. Chapman: The Legendary Trials of Lucretia Chapman and Her Lover," a NY Times best-selling novel by acclaimed true-crime journalist Linda Wolfe.

The cast includes Amy Lee Pearsall (Everyday Edna Mae/Planet Connections Festivity, Jonathan Dauermann (Much Ado About Nothing/Fools and Kings Project) and Jeremy Sapadin (Fools and Kings Project), with Stage directions/assistant director by Joshua James (Fresh Meat Play Festival).

Kenny Wade Marshall's directing credits include the New York revival of John Kolvenbach's Love Song (Access Theatre), Fresh Meat New Works Festival (Drilling Company), and Page 2 Stage New Works Festivals (Access Theatre) with Playhouse Creatures Theatre Co. the direction of Robin Rice's Everyday Edna Mae (2017 Planet Connections), Comedy of Errors and Much Ado About Nothing both with The Fools & Kings Project.

Robin Rice is the author of over 70 plays. She has been published, honored, and produced from New York to South Africa, South Korea to London. Her play ALICE IN BLACK AND WHITE, most recently seen Off-Broadway and in Louisville, will be published in 2018.
