The 29th Street Playwrights Collective announces the line-up for its NEW WORKS SERIES 2017 Fall Season, beginning September 18 with MAN & WIFE by Emma Goldman-Sherman at the Bernie Wohl Center at 7pm. The play follows a newly married couple, beginning as ornaments on their own wedding cake, through 28 years of marriage, for better or worse.
The NEW WORKS SERIES 2017 continues throughout the fall with staged readings of three more new plays: SURVIVORS by James Masten on October 16; LUST & LIES by Robin Rice on November 13; and
BREATH TO BREATH, by Michael Wells-Oakes with music composed by Max Boltan (Salt People) on December 4.
The 29th Street Playwrights Collective develops the voices of emerging, mature playwrights and is committed to gender parity with a membership of at least 50% women writers. The Collective's goal is to foster new work for the stage through weekly craft discussions, writing sessions, readings of developing work, structured feedback, and public staged-readings via the New Works Series.
The series is free and open to the public and take place at The Bernie Wohl Performing Arts Center at Goddard Riverside Community Center, 647 Columbus Avenue btw 91st & 92st Streets, at 7pm.
