The 2016 NY PHIL BIENNIAL concludes this weekend, wrapping up three weeks of cutting-edge new music by 100+ composers throughout the city.

Today we look forward to the grand finale of the biennial (June 11), a very personal concert featuring Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic paying tribute to Philharmonic friends Pierre Boulez, Steven Stucky, and Per Nørgård, with episode four of Biennial Beat - a video series filling you in on the stories behind the biennial. Coming up: The Knights team up with youth choruses from coast to coast tonight, and tomorrow the Philharmonic presents new concertos by William Bolcom and John Corigliano.

Tune in to Facebook today at 12:30 p.m. EDT for a live video with percussionist Martin Grubinger, soloist intomorrow's concert. And in case you missed it, watch the three Ligeti Forward concerts at the Met Museum here, and video from Brooklyn Rider at National Sawdust here.
