The day's overall strongest males (right and left-handed) will receive &100 cash prizes and male and female MVP's will receive special MVP Awards. In addition, Ironmind's Captains of Crush Hand Grippers awards will be awarded to the day's strongest men and women. Teams are also competing from the five NYC Boroughs, Long Island far beyond. The team trophy is tallied by most points scored.
"The NYC Sit Down will surely produce winners who are the best brute strength arm wrestlers, since little technique can be performed in the sit down position," said Gene Camp, founder and president of the 38-year old New York Arm Wrestling Association. "This event is going to be very exciting to watch because many previous stand-up arm wrestling winners are competing without being able to use their signature techniques, in this one-on-one brute strength, sit-down championship." Camp also pointed out that last year's Sit-Down Championship was canceled due to a snow storm. "We hope for good weather on March 1, 2015." Camp, added.
