Andy Blankenbuehler, nominated for BEST CHOREOGRAPHY for BRING IT ON: THE MUSICAL
"I had just taken my son to school and then I was watching live on NY1 with my wife. We were patiently watching - my wife had a bottle of champagne ready - we were planning to drink it one way or the other - whatever happened! I was so thrilled that Bring It On was recognized, it has been a big part of my life for the last several years. And, while I'm thrilled with my nomination for choreography, the best part was the show getting the nomination for best musical. It's just great that people have recognized it and I know the cast of all these Broadway newcomers are going to be thrilled...I did get to drink the champagne a little this morning, it calmed my nerves, but then I had to head to the office. But, I will finish it later today!"
