Marc Shaiman & Larry Blank (Catch Me If You Can)
Marc Shaiman enjoyed composing the music and co-writing the lyrics for Hairspray with Scott Wittman. For their score, the pair won Tony, Grammy and Olivier Awards. Their next Broadway score was for Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, for which they won absolutely nothing. Marc's film credits date back to the silents and include Broadcast News; When Harry Met Sally; Beaches; Misery; City Slickers; The Addams Family; A Few Good Men; Sister Act; Sleepless in Seattle; The First Wives Club; Patch Adams; The American President; George of the Jungle; South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut; and The Bucket List. He has been nominated five times for an Oscar and lost every time. Marc was Emmy-nominated for writing on "Saturday Night Live" (the Sweeney Sisters) and is an actual Emmy Award winner for Billy Crystal's medleys for "The Academy Awards." His arrangements for Harry Connick, Jr. were Grammy nominated, as was the Hairspray soundtrack, and he has worked with many other artists, including Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Eric Clapton, Kristin Chenoweth, Christine Ebersole, Jennifer Holliday, Jenifer Lewis, Patti LuPone, John Mayer, Barbra Streisand and basically everyone in show biz who hasn't worn a meat dress. But the night is young! Marc's work with Bette Midler is plentiful but it is their collaboration for Johnny Carson's penultimate "Tonight Show" that will always remain a highlight. He auditioned but was not chosen to play himself on her sitcom. Marc's Internet sensation, "PROP 8-The Musical," has been viewed more than six million times (@funnieordie.com) and won a Webbie Award, whatever that is. He recently co-wrote/produced various cuts on Mariah Carey's latest Xmas CD. It is Marc's belief that nothing says Christmas more than a Jew in a recording studio in August in L.A. Marc and Scott have written fabulous numbers for Neil Patrick Harris for his award hosting, don't ya think? They are currently co-writing an original Broadway musical of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, to be directed by Sam Mendes, and are also collaborating with Steven Spielberg on an NBC pilot called "Smash," about the creation of a Broadway musical. This time he's not auditioning to play himself; he can't take the rejection again.

Larry Blank: Broadway: Tony-nominated orchestrations for The Drowsy Chaperone and White Christmas. Also La Cage aux Folles (1995), Fame Becomes Me, The Producers. London: Carousel, Fiddler on the Roof, Beautiful and Damned, many broadcasts for the BBC. Films: City Slickers II, North, Forget Paris, The American President (all for Marc Shaiman) and Chicago. Conductor: Marvin Hamlisch, Michael Crawford, Michael Feinstein, Betty Buckley, They're Playing Our Song, Evita, Sugar Babies and La Cage aux Folles.
