2005 Tony Awards Broadcast Nominated for Director's Guild Award

Glenn Weiss and the directing team of the 59th Annual Tony Awards, were honored today with a Director's Guild nomination for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Musical Variety Show category. In addition to Mr. Weiss, nominated members of his directing team include Associate Directors Gregg Gelfand, Robin Mishkin and Ricky Kirshner; as well as Stage Managers Garry W. Hood, Peter Epstein, Andrew Feigen, Lynn Finkel, Douglas Fogel, Jeffry Gitter, Christopher Kelly, Arthur Lewis, Mark McKenna and Jeffrey Pearl. This is Mr. Weiss' third DGA nomination. He was previously nominated in 2001 and 2002 for The 55th and 56th Annual Tony Awards, respectively. The Tony Awards are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing.

The 59th Annual Tony Awards also received a Writer's Guild Nomination in the Comedy/Variety – Music, Awards, Tributes, Specials category.

The 60th Annual American Theatre Wing's Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards® will be broadcast live on the CBS television network from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 11, 2006.

The Tonys are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. At the League, Gerald Schoenfeld is Chairman and Jed Bernstein is President. At the Wing, Sondra Gilman is Chairman, Doug Leeds is President and Howard Sherman is Executive Director. For Tony Award Productions, Elizabeth I. McCann is Managing Producer and Joey Parnes is Coordinating Producer.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss/White Cherry Entertainment were Executive Producers of the 2005 Tony Awards. In addition, Glenn served as Director of the 2005 Tonys. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss/White Cherry Entertainment are Executive Producers of the 2006 Tony Awards. Mr. Weiss will also serve as Director of the 2006 Tony Awards.
