2 Broadway Shows Close Today

Today, February 2, 2025, Broadway says goodbye to two limited run productions. Left on Tenth takes its final bow at the James Earl Jones Theatre following 29 previews and 118 regular performances; and Cult of Love will conclude its limited run at the Hayes Theatre following 24 previews and 59 regular performances.

The venues will soon be home to real Women Have Curves and Purpose respectively.

Delia Ephron’s new play Left on Tenth, starring Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild award winner Julianna Margulies and Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award winner Peter Gallagher, opened on October 23, 2024 at the James Earl Jones Theater.

Based on Ephron’s New York Times best-selling memoir of the same name, the new play shines a spotlight on second chances in life and love. Left on Tenth is a romantic comedy about second chances in life and love. When she least expects it, Delia, beloved novelist and screenwriter of You’ve Got Mail, makes a surprising connection with a man from her past and falls into her own romantic comedy. What starts with an unlikely spark, blossoms into a love story that seems to defy all odds in the face of life’s challenges. Left on Tenth celebrates the messy, beautiful true story of two people with the courage to open their hearts again.

The Second Stage production of Leslye Headland’s Cult of Love, directed by Trip Cullman, opened at the Hayes Theatre on December 12, 2024. It stars Shailene Woodley, Zachary Quinto, Barbie Ferreira, Christopher Lowell, Mare Winninham, David Rasche, Molly Bernard, Roberta Colindrez, Rebecca Henderson and Christopher Sears.
