Set in Chicago when Prohibition has everyone thirsty for a little excitement, Some Like It Hot is the rollicking story of two musicians forced to flee the Windy City after witnessing a mob hit. With gangsters hot on their heels, they’re on the run as the newest members of the swingingest big band ever to cross the country. Can they hide in plain sight without completely losing themselves? Or will the mob, the truth, and maybe even love itself finally catch up to them?
A national tour will launch in September 2024 with The Booking Group and a West End production will follow in 2025, produced by The Shubert Organization and Neil Meron in partnership with Ambassador Theatre Group.
Roundabout Theatre Company’s world-premiere production of I Need That by Theresa Rebeck, is directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel. The cast features Danny DeVito as “Sam,” Lucy DeVito as “Amelia,” Ray Anthony Thomas as “Foster,” Suzy Jane Hunt as “u/s Amelia,” Lance Roberts as “u/s Foster,” and Danny Rutigliano as “u/s Sam.”
Sam (Danny DeVito) doesn’t get out much. Actually, he doesn’t get out at all, opting instead for the safety of his house in the company of his things—his many, many things. But when a notice from the government arrives alerting Sam that he must clean up his property or face eviction, he’s forced to reckon with what’s trash, what’s treasure, and whether we can ever know the difference between the two.
