Indo-American Arts Council's (IAAC) 17th Annual ERASING BORDERS DANCE FESTIVAL will return September 21-23,

Performances take palce September 21 & 22 are live at the Ailey Citigroup Theater. September 23 is live on Facebook and YouTube.com. All performances are at 6 PM.

As always, the Festival presents three totally different programs, treating audiences to a wide range of artists, storytellers, musicians performing different styles of Indian dance: Kathak style, Bharathanatyam, Odissi style, and more. 

The Sept. 21 program features prominent Indian dancers and musicians in Kathak style, and the Kuchipudi dance-drama tradition.  Performing artists include Nirupama Rajendra, Rajendra Tumkus Dwarakanath, Jahnavi Pillai, Fuschia Dance Company, and more.

The Sept. 22 program is entitled "Unveiling Traditional Narratives: If Women had a Voice," and features performances by Malavika Singh, Sri Thina Subramanian, Ramya Harishankar, Anugraha Sridhar, and more. The program brings together Bharathanatyam, Odissi, scriptures, and poems to tell its story.

The Sept. 23 program (on-line only) features Jayaprabha Menon, one of the most accomplished Mohiniyattam exponents of India, stars of the troupe of Ratikant Mohapatra, along with Vaishnavi Shore, and Rima Kallingal.
